Diana Giraldo, was born in Bogotá. Is an Accountant with an emphasis in Statutory Auditing with a specialization in Financial Management. Auditor iso 9001, passionate about the Administration of resources. She has more than 20 years of experience in the financial and administrative area. Has worked as Financial and Administrative Director in different schools. She believes that planning, communication and empathy skills are the most important skills she has developed. Believes in the importance of understanding the needs and ideas of other people, since she thinks that they are the keys to teamwork and success to achieve the common objectives of any organization.

Yenifer was born in Bogota. She’s an Industrial engineer with an emphasis in Human Resources and I have an MBA from Universidad La Rioja. She loves animals, riding her bicycle and enjoys her life with her family. She have more than 14 years of experience in the continuous improvement processes and Human Resources area. She thinks the most important thing in her job is to work in the wellness of the people, listen everyone’s needs and ensure their happiness at work. She really likes working in team, keeping an excellent communication and helping develop talent.

Daniella, a proud native of Bogotá, Colombia, joined KSI Bogotá in 2017 and has been a passionate educator ever since. She holds a Master of Science in Biological Sciences, along with dual bachelor’s degrees in Biology and Microbiology from Los Andes University. Her journey with the IB began as a student, earning her IB Diploma upon graduating from high school.
Her teaching career started as a private tutor, followed by a role as a university instructor while pursuing her master’s degree. In 2012, she discovered her true passion: education. Since then, Daniella has dedicated herself to teaching at the high school level, continually enhancing her expertise by attending numerous IBO workshops to grow as a DP and MY teacher.
She also holds a Master’s in Education from the University of the People and has served as an IB Examiner for DP Biology since 2016, further contributing to the IB community with her knowledge and experience.

As an accomplished Art and Creative Director with more than 15 years of experience, she has worked in diverse roles across three countries—the USA, Colombia, and Lebanon. Her portfolio spans advertising agencies, in-house design for multinational companies, packaging agencies, and freelance projects. She is also a certified Art Therapist, combining creativity with emotional well-being to foster holistic development.

Jenny Alvarez earned her Bachelor’s degree in Preschool Education in 2013. She has been in education for more than ten years, through private tutoring and in the school system. In her kindergarten and elementary experience, she has guided students for ages 1,5 year, up to 11. Jenny has worked in different contexts passing by IB Schools, kindergartens inspired by Reggio Emilia’s Approach, traditional curriculum schools, values, and capacities framework schools, and investigation in universities. All in her country, Colombia, and also abroad, in the Dominican Republic, and New Zealand. She loves learning and sharing her knowledge, so she feels grateful that she can do the things that she is passionate about. She truly believes that the teaching should be in response to the previous experience, needs, and interests of students, so their needs are best served when they have opportunities to engage in learning within love and meaningful contexts

Maria Cristina earned her Bachelor’s degree in Pre-school Education in 1986. She has been working as a self- contained teacher for 30 years; teaching students from ages 2 years, up to 14. Maria Cristina has previously worked at an English School in the Special Education Needs department. She likes to teach students songs, games, origami and reading comprehension activities. She believes there are many things she has learnt from her students throughout her life and there is still so much more to be learned.

With a unique blend of technical prowess and philosophical inquiry, She embodies a dynamic and multidimensional approach to life and learning. Maria Mercedes has a clear understanding of the scope and sequence taught in elementary school, as well as experience with the IB program, which will enrich the teaching of Social Studies in these grades with a theoretical-practical approach that will strengthen the units of inquiry of our students.

Angie, a proud native of Cúcuta, Colombia, holds a degree in Spanish and Philology from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. Her passion for learning and teaching languages has driven her to master Spanish, English, French, Italian, and also study German, Classical Greek, and Latin.
From a young age, Angie knew she wanted to be a teacher, and education has since become her true calling. She views teaching as a profound journey of self-discovery for both her students and herself.
In her free time, Angie enjoys reading philosophy, watching movies, and dancing, always seeking new ways to engage with the world around her. Her dedication to lifelong learning and fostering curiosity makes her an inspiring educator.

Daniel Mesa

Daniel Mesa is a historian, educator, and social entrepreneur born in Bogotá. He graduated from the University of the Andes and holds a master’s degree in Peacebuilding and another in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. He has extensive experience in historical memory, pedagogy, and social impact projects. He has been an International Baccalaureate (IB) teacher in History and Global Politics, as well as head of the Social Sciences department, with more than five years of experience in bilingual teaching. He has led social responsibility and internationalization processes, including social reintegration projects for former combatants in the armed conflict. He has worked at institutions such as the Banco de la República, where he researched the M-19, Esmeralda Arboleda, and Radio Sutatenza, and at the Colombian Embassy in Washington. His career combines research, teaching, and the design of innovative projects with cultural and social impact. He currently works at DianaUribe.fm, creating historical and cultural content. As an educator, he is passionate about creating spaces for critical reflection and creativity in his students, connecting history with contemporary challenges.

With over 7 years of experience in teaching Mathematics in a second language (English), Diego specializes in CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) and PBL (Project-Based Learning). His dedication to education goes beyond the classroom, as he is committed to building strong, value-driven communities. Outside of his professional life, Diego enjoys traveling, discovering new cultures, scuba diving, and running half marathons. His greatest passion lies in imparting life values to his students, helping them grow both academically and personally.

Juan Camilo is from Bogotá, Colombia and joined KSI in 2022. He holds a Bachelor in Mathematics from Los Andes University. He studied at an IB school and got his IBO diploma when he graduated. He started teaching in some universities when he graduated, and has been an active teacher since. He has been an online tutor in mathematics, and in 2015 he started working in high schools. He is currently finishing his Master in Big Data and working as an online teacher for Data Science for Social Data Consulting.

Luis Eduardo is a stage magician, hypnotist, and political scientist who graduated from the “Pontificia Universidad Javeriana”, born in Bogotá. He has extensive experience in national security and defense, pedagogy, and conflict resolution, with over 10 years of experience in bilingual teaching at primary and secondary levels, he has been a sponsor, coordinator, and tutor for multiple UN school simulations (MUN), been able to attend with groups of students to simulations in USA. During his career, he worked with the “Centro de Memoria Histórica Militar” collecting stories and repairing social fabric. As a magician, he performed shows around North and South America before the pandemic. As a teacher, he likes to mix magic with lessons to capture his students’ attention.

Natalia Quiñones Morales has a Physics degree from the Universidad Pedagógica Nacional of Colombia. She is trained in instructing the IB Diploma Program Mathematics and she is currently an Examiner of IB. Natalia has more than 20 years’ experience as a teacher in Primary and Secondary for Physics, Mathematics, Geometry and Logic. She considers teaching a good opportunity to help the world and children. Natalia enjoys spending time outdoors, and with her pets.

Sonia Castro

Sonia joined KSI on 2017, holds a Master of Science degree in Physics, a Bachelor of Science in Electronic Engineering and a Bachelor of Physics from Los Andes University. Sonia started as a university teacher when she was doing her masters but found that her passion was teaching High School students. Since then, 8 years ago, Sonia has been attending multiple workshops from the IBO to further develop her skills as a DP and PYP teacher. Since 2006 Sonia has joined the team of authors of the MYP e-assessment on Physics and is a passionate writer of exams and units designer. Sonia enjoys being with her family and friends and activities related with her Catholic faith. Sonia believes the school creates a space that promotes creative and innovative ways to teach in a respectful and challenging environment. Sonia strives to allow students to ‘Be all they can be’.

Alberto Holguín

English Teacher, Interpreter and Translator; Master in Performing Arts (Actor and Stage Director), deeply interested in projects related to education and arts and interested also in the way arts affect how we learn and offer contexts to develop new skill sets to face everyday challenges. Alberto has worked for over twenty years as an English Teacher, and has had the chance of translating several books for two Publishing Companies. As a teacher he has also helped people succeed in attaining passing scores in international exams and worked as a Cambridge Oral Examiner for a year. Before the lockdown, he was acting and directing in the play Salvajes, which was staged in different local theatres and schools. A believer and a pet lover who enjoys physical activity, reading, drawing, and learning new things, and is currently exploring what digital media has to offer in storytelling. He believes people and relationships are vital and that education can help shape our future in a more positive direction.
